City of Light

City of Light is a collaborative storytelling game about a group of covert agents on a dangerous mission in Nazi-occupied Paris. It requires one game master (GM) to moderate the game and portray the dangers of the world, and one or more players to portray the agents. It is likely that all the agents will die or be permanently scarred and haunted by their experiences. 

This is an analogue TTRPG using the Trophy system to play a very specific scenario mixing a hardboiled detective story with covert military operations and occult experiments. 

The Agent's Handbook, which contains the game rules, is provided as a free demo file below.

The GM's Guide provides what you need to run the game. Some additional rules bits, but mostly the scenario outline and two extensive sections:  People, with about 20 NPCs and what they can tell the PCs; and Locations, with the people, challenges and evidence to be found at each of about a dozen places. 

Documents is a collection of handouts plus the "Aftermath" section, with epilogues for the historical NPCs that can be met during the game. Most of them are not good endings. 

People & Places is a list of the most significant characters and locations for City of Light, as an optional handout for players to help them focus on the key elements of the scenario in one-shots or any other circumstances in which you want a focused, no-ambling game. 

Finally, two handouts from the Documents are provided as PNG files with better graphics. 

EARLY ACCESS: I'm making this available at a lower initial price as the layout is still a little basic and only two of the handouts are in "full graphics" form. As I update the books and handouts, the price will increase. Early purchasers will get updated for free. I expect the final price will be $20.
